A HOLISTIC VIEW

"The mind cannot find peace while the body is restless, and the body cannot heal while the mind is in conflict" -ayurvedic wisdom-

The approach

When body and mind come to rest, space opens up to discover what needs attention

The body and your story are never separate from one another. The same applies to the work we do together. We discover slow mindful movement, gentle stretching and calm breathing. This ritual calms the nervous system and allows us to become aware of suppressed chronic tensions. We will translate these signals so we can clearly name the underlying cause. That is when recovery can begin. By cultivating body consciousness, it is easier to understand and manage your own stress in a healthy and sustainable way.

Guided soft stretching

01 — Physical

Relaxing the mind and body

Slow, guided movement, stretching and long exhales tell the nervous system it is safe to relax/decontract. Heart rate lowers. Cortisol quiets. The body arrives in recovery mode and starts to feel safe and grounded again. This allows the mind to experience a state of stability, clarity and presence. Suddenly you are able to zoom out and look at your life from more angles than you used to be.

Quiet dialogue at golden hour with horses in the distance

02 — Verbal

Dialogue that listens, translates and offers a healthier direction

As your body begins to settle, space opens up for conversation. Not to analyse you, but to explore together what your body is expressing in that moment. What purpose does the tension serve? What is your body trying to protect you from? And what does it need in order to let go? As you begin to understand what lies beneath the tension, its hold often starts to soften. From there, we explore new ways of relating to stress, helping you build greater resilience and recognise the early signs of chronic stress before they take hold.

A session, unhurried

Roughly seventy-five minutes

  1. I

    Arrival

We begin in stillness. A cup of calming tea. A few minutes standing or seated on the grass, doing nothing at all and let our senses take us to the present. Nature begins the work before we do, helping us "root" again.

  2. II

    Breath & body

Through guided breathing, soft stretching and gentle movement, you invite your body to slow down. Your breath becomes calmer, tension begins to soften, and your attention shifts from your mind to your body. As you become more present with what you feel, your nervous system is given the space to settle. Not by forcing change, but by allowing your body to experience a sense of safety once again. You feel like a whole body again, not just a head full of worries and thoughts.

  3. III

    Dialogue

When your body settles into that stillness, space opens up for a conversation. Not to analyse you, but to begin reading what the body is revealing in that very moment. What is the function of this tension? What is your body trying to tell you? What is it trying to protect you from? And what does it need to finally let go? After that, we reconnect with the body to translate 'what you feel' into 'what you need' through a physical exercise.

  4. IV

    Integration

The insights that emerge are translated into simple, manageable steps for your daily life. You will learn to recognize the early signs of stress and develop practical habits that support your nervous system. In doing so, you will build greater resilience and learn to safeguard your inner peace, boundaries, and sustainable balance

Breathing in the garden

The setting

Sessions take place in the garden with Phong

Trees, birdsong, the smell of soil, fresh air and daylight — a room can't offer them. The nervous system was shaped in places like this. It knows how to rest here.

  • Held outdoors from spring through autumn
  • Sheltered space for cooler or wet days
  • Private, quiet, one client at a time

This is for you if…

Your body is holding on to tension

Your neck, shoulders, jaw or lower back rarely feel truly relaxed. No matter how often you stretch or rest, the tension keeps coming back.

Your nervous system always seems to be 'on'

Relaxing doesn't come naturally. You find yourself constantly alert, overthinking or feeling like there's always something that needs doing. Even during quiet moments, your body struggles to switch off.

You spend most of your time in your head

You understand your stress intellectually, but your body keeps repeating the same patterns. You're looking for a way to create change not only in your mind, but in your body as well.

You find it difficult to recognise or honour your boundaries

You often say "yes" when you really mean "no". You put other people's needs before your own and only realise afterwards that you've pushed yourself too far. Your own perfectionism makes you set the bar too high.

You long for greater calm and resilience

You want to stop being driven by stress and start trusting the signals your body gives you. Not by trying harder but by slowing down, reconnecting with yourself and responding to life with greater ease.

My mission

Recovery begins in the body

At my practice in Overijse, I combine body-oriented therapy with coaching conversations, always in a natural setting. I believe lasting recovery does not begin in the mind, but in the body. That is why we first slow down deliberately. Through gentle movement, mindful breathing and paying attention to what your body is telling you, your nervous system is given the opportunity to settle and recover.

As your body begins to relax, space opens up to understand what it has been trying to communicate for some time. Many of the people I work with are caring, dedicated and deeply committed to the people around them. They hold themselves to high standards, take on a great deal of responsibility, and rarely stop to ask what they themselves need. Over time, they become disconnected from their own boundaries and keep pushing forward, even when their body has been asking for rest for quite some time. They don't do this deliberately, but are fueled by adrenaline and built up stress.

I help you reconnect with your body's signals and translate them into practical, sustainable changes in everyday life. Recovery is not about trying harder; it is about learning to care for yourself differently, knowing and respecting your own limits.

Sessions take place at my practice surrounded by nature in Overijse. The peaceful environment supports the healing process by inviting you to slow down, calming the nervous system and helping you regain perspective and resilience. The rolling countryside, grazing horses and a magnificent cherry tree all contribute to a restorative and grounding setting.

My aim is not only to help you recover from your symptoms, but also to help you understand what you need to continue caring for yourself with greater calm, energy and confidence in the future.

Who am I

A practice rooted in body, nature and lived experience

John

Since 2018, I have been supporting people recovering from burnout, chronic stress and exhaustion as a member of a multidisciplinary team at Medical Centre Ternat.

My own life began as the child of Vietnamese boat refugees. From difficult circumstances emerged a story of resilience, shaped by years of practising Eastern martial arts in nature, learning to ask for and accept help, choosing kindness and self-compassion, finding meaning and inner peace through contributing to the wellbeing of others as well as my own.

Today, both my personal journey and the healing power of nature continue to strengthen me. They enable me to support others with confidence, calm and genuine presence, while helping them discover those same qualities within their own story. - Phong -
